Review: The Others

Spoiler Discussion

1. The “I am your daughter” scene got me, and when I say it got me, I do not say it lightly, We don’t immediately get to see the “daughter’s” face but we know something is wrong because she won’t respond to her mothers call. Then when Grace walks into the room, we see her face change into one of shock. The delay to the reveal makes it that much more disturbing and then the line confirms both our and Grace’s worst fear that the “Others” have taken her daughter. When I saw it, I thought that the daughter had been possessed by the spirit of the old women. The revelation that the opposite had happened at the end of the movie was entertaining and quite a surprise.
