1.Why did they even play this game as kids? If there was some kind of set-up or explanation that showed their interest in the paranormal, then the fascination and subsequent tragedy would be more interesting. If the story had tied in Laine’s grandmother to the duo’s early fascination in the occult, the former’s character traits are more justified. It would’ve made the whole story more coherent and interesting and given the inciting incident a real purpose.

2.If Doris can only kill people once her mouth is open, how does she possess all the friends and have them off themselves? Oh wait, she shouldn’t be able to. That’s why there’s no tension in the movie. You know that Doris can kill them all whenever she wants, so there’s no reason to care about the group being able to stop her influence.
