Spoiler Discussion

1.There’s this one moment during the school dance where the emo/goth kids are walking by the balloons and one of them manages to pop a few while talking about some abstract suffering. To mess with her, her friend pops two balloons and says something along the lines of “Your first abortion,” as she pops the first one followed up by “Your second abortion,” on the second pop. I cried laughing the first time, and I actually spit out water laughing this most recent time. One of my favorite parts of the movie.

2. I like that Jennifer only “dies” when she sees Needy discarding their BFF necklace. She so desperately wants Needy’s love more than even the life force of the boys she eats. Up till that point, the escalating tensions between her and her former best friend were just issues to be traversed in the future. The moment the necklace is gone, she realizes that she’ll never get Needy back and then just kind of gives in. The box cutter to the chest was just the cherry on top.
