1.The early dream/awakening sequence with Dr. Weir is great and I wish the rest of the film felt more like it. It’s surprising when he grabs the chair and it’s his wife. We know nothing about her or their relation so it creates mystery. Then her eyes aren’t there- which is viscerally shocking- before he feels himself getting grabbed from the back and waking up. The scene scares us, but also adds to the mystery and the nature of the phenomena at play.
