Review: The Devil’s Backbone

Spoiler Discussion

1. Jacito’s death was poetic and fitting. He looks down on the group of children and assumes that because he’s elder and armed he can easily deal with them. But they use their teamwork to overpower him and eventually give him to his first victim. The way he dies is doubly fitting. His greed and prioritization of capital comes to bite him back. The gold bars weigh him down and Santi would have never died if Jacinto didn’t “caught” while actively trying to steal money.
